Compact Flash Cards

GO LARGE. I started with a fairly mediocre 128Mb card and was soon buying a 256 Mb know I never go out with anything less than 1Gb cards and as my main cards use 4Gb cards in the D2x and 2Gb cards in the D2h. When working with such large amounts of information the quality and speed of the cards is key, you dont want to miss 'that shot' while you DSLR is tied up writing th previous images to your card, I carry nothing but Lexar cards,, they've served me faultlessly over the years and I wouldn't consider trusting any other make. The're not the cheapest but how much do you value your images.
With a digital SLR your producing quality images so you want to create high quality low compression images on your card and this takes space. You also don’t want to be swapping cards all the time and it’s amazing how many pictures you’ll take once you’ve gone digital and there’s no real cost associated with pressing the shutter release. O’h and get a good case for holding your memory cards, you ought to take spares with you each time you go out and for a holiday or expeditions you’ll fill several cards. I use a Hackabe which takes 4 cards.
