I got this lens specifically to carry out some portrait photography in a studio and also some candid portraits. The defocus control enables me to control the out of focus elements in the foreground and background and thereby setting off the subject. However I’ve found the lens more and more useful due to DC and fast speed, f2. In particular I found this lens ideal in photographing individual racing cyclists where I can get clean sharp images of the cyclist in question against a controlled out of focus background, it’s fast speed really helps here. |
